K. Michelle is on a roll as of late. She’s got a new record deal, an album on the way, and now she’s landed her own VH1 Spin Off. Congratulations are in order.
Earlier this year, K. Michelle announced that she wouldn’t be returning for another season of Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta after this current one. She feels as though her life is a lot more positive now than when it was before and because of that she feels conflicted about continuing on with the show.
“I’m announcing that, I won’t be on ‘Love & Hip Hop’…I just feel like when God is brining you to the positive, it’s very hard to say ‘Thank you Jesus and f**k you b****es’,” she told fans during a D.C. concert.
I’m completely all for this. Even though I love seeing her ever week on my TV screen, I think its important as her star grows for her to become a little more polished and improve her brand.
During a recent performance, K.Michelle said:
“God is just bringing me to a whole different place. My mouth is still bad. I drink and act a fool. But, I just don’t think that [Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta] is where I need to be. I do have my own show coming on VH1. You guys are gonna like that one a lot. You really are,” she said before going into her popular “I Just Wanna F**k” track.
It’ll be interesting to see what K. Michelle has to offer in a solo setting. I know I’m definitely going to at least give it a try. Though there hasn’t been anymore information available, I’m definitely excited.
