Take a minute girl, come sit down, let me tell you what’s been happening. Yesterday, Lil Mama released a video for her new song ‘Sausage.’
Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock or drunk for the past few months, you’ve heard or seen at least one of the videos from the so called Sausage Movement (again, I don’t name these things, other people do). In case you haven’t, here’s the so called original video that started the raps.
Lil Mama, who apparently isn’t filling in for Left Eye anymore, decided to try and capitalize on the sausage movement by creating a song and video for her sausage rap. Let me get the good out first. The song is catchy, as are all the other Sausage videos. Her song/video has a distinct 80’s feel to it which makes it appealing. The video looks like it had a decent enough budget and it looks like fun.
I can’t say that I’m necessarily a fan of Lil Mama. Her lip gloss song was cute but that was about it for me. I guess above all else, you have to admire Lil Mama’s dedication. She’s still trying. She deserves credit for that, right? Right?
Lil Mama can also dance which is great. In some parts of the video, she sounds like Missy Elliott’s step sister, and I mean that as a compliment. There’s just so many other things that Lil Mama could be doing though besides trying to make a rap career happen.
Since she loves walking into places that don’t belong to her, like that stage with Jay Z and Alicia Keys, why doesn’t she go be a process server?
Isn’t Lil Mama marrying Erica Mena soon anyway?
I think @Freshalina on Twitter sums it up best: Lil Mama acting like that high school graduate who refuses to move on in life. Girl, if you don’t take your old ass home.

Shout out to my friend JJ for being in the video!
